Ludlow, Mass. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team blanked the Yellow Jackets of American International College on Saturday afternoon to close out its regular season slate of Northeast-10 Conference matches undefeated at 12-0. The Panthers continue to hold first place in the NE-10 regular season standings with less than two weeks until postseason play.
The beneficiaries of two defaults, Adelphi (14-2, 12-0 NE-10) claimed both doubles points played to take a 3-0 lead over the host Yellow Jackets (0-10, 0-10 NE-10) after doubles;
Katarina Barborikova and
Charlotte Moreau won by a straight-forward 8-3 score at top flight, before
Stefani Lineva and
Rebecca Fakas continued their personal winning streak at No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 win.
In singles play, the Panthers did not drop a set en route to recording five victories, including three 6-0, 6-0 results. Lineva defeated Ana Simones at top flight singles by a 7-6, 6-3 score in Adelphi's toughest match of the day. Moreau dropped three games at No. 2 singles, before Barborikova,
Joanna Haich and Fakas all recorded their 6-0, 6-0 results. Haich defeated Chazani Douglas at No. 5 singles with the loss of just one point.

"It's great to finish the season undefeated in the conference, but our work is not done," Head Coach
Michael Misiti stated. "We have a tough match against a good Division I school and my alma mater Fordham University next, and then we will begin training for playoffs. We will make sure we are in top physical and mental condition to finish the season reaching our objectives."
The Panthers will face off against the Rams in the Bronx tomorrow, October 12, at 10 am.
