Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University swim team welcomed Pace University to Woodruff Hall on January 15 in a meeting of Northeast-10 members. The Setters left Garden City with a 54-49 victory on the women's side and a 61-34 win over the men. With the losses Adelphi's men fall to 4-3 overall and the women slip to 3-4.
The women collected three individual victories against Pace, with two coming courtesy of the efforts of
Danielle Dreiss, who was the fastest swimmer in the pool in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:03.65) and the 200 yard freestyle (2:05.16).
Gabrielle Terzano was responsible for the Panthers other individual triumph, touching the wall first in the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.29).
The Brown and Gold also picked up a relay victory, as Dreiss was joined by Emily Demace,
Kate Harney and
Heather Miller in the 200 meter freestyle relay, stopping the clock at 1:48.70, over 10 seconds ahead of Pace. The men's lone individual win came from
Peter D'Ortenzio, who stopped the clock first in the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 53.88.
