Dorcester, MA – The cross country team sent a small contingent up to Franklin Park to compete in the Codfish Bowl on Saturday. Just three men and one woman competed on the course that will be the site for the NCAA East Regional Championship in November while the rest of the team was inactive over the weekend.
Aashaun Khedaru was the Panther's top runner on the men's side. The freshman covered the 8k course in 30:27 to break into the top 100 with an 89
th place overall finish. Fellow freshman,
Anthony Seara was a few paces behind Khedaru in 93
rd overall with a time of 30:42. Rounding out the third male harrier was
Robert Festa whose time of 31:53 earned him a 105
th place finish.
For the women,
Bryhanna Charles was the lone competitor for the Brown and Gold. In her first race, she clocked in at 24:10 over the 5,000 meter course to finish 100
th overall.
The full Panther squad will be back in action on Saturday, October 5 when they travel to Lehigh University to compete in the Paul Short Invitational.
