Box Score North Andover, Mass.- The Adelphi University field hockey team traveled to North Andover, Mass. for their second meeting against the Merrimack College Warriors, in both teams' conference openers. Two dominant offensive halves by the Blue and Gold would give them a 7-1 victory over the Panthers, improving their record to 5-3 overall, 1-0 in conference. The loss puts Adelphi at an even 4-4 overall record and 0-1 in the NE-10.
Just a little over a minute into the game, sophomore Katrina Squeri scored the first of seven goals on the night before Adelphi would tie it up just six minutes later. Freshman
Lena Pollich scored the lone goal for the Panthers, her sixth of the season.
Six different Warriors tallied goals in the win, having a 3-1 advantage in the first 35 minutes. Merrimack would register four more goals in the second half, going unanswered by the Black and Gold.
Sophomore
Kelly Serrao had five saves in the loss, while newcomer Amand Borbee collected her first collegiate save.

"The other team dominated this time," said Head Coach
Gloria O'Connor. "We certainly need to regroup quickly and move on to be the team I know we can be."

The Panthers return to action Tuesday, October 1 in an away contest against non-conference opponent Mercy College at 4 p.m. The Black and Gold will host Franklin Pierce for their next NE-10 game on Saturday, October 5 at 1 p.m. on Motamed Field.
