Taylor King fell to Merrimack's Chealsey Giatrelis by an 8-1 scoreline in the semifinals of singles B competition at the ITA East Regional on Monday on the campus of Chestnut Hill College. King was the last Panther standing at the end of three days of ITA regional competition.
Over the three days, the women's tennis team picked up nine total victories. King led the squad with three completed singles match wins and was also the beneficiary of a default en route to the semifinals. She also picked up a doubles win with Gaby Adia to end the three-day tournament with four of the team's wins.
Katarina Barborikova, Charlotte Moreau and Adia also picked up singles wins for the Panthers during the event; Barborikova dropped one game in four sets en route to a quarterfinal showing in singles A play, while Morneau and Adia each won their first round matches in singles B competition.
Barborikova and Joanna Haich rounded out the victories for the Panthers on the weekend, as they scored one win in the doubles A draw.
