Syracuse, N.Y. – Earlier this afternoon, the Adelphi University women's tennis team traveled to Le Moyne College for a Northeast-10 Conference contest. The Panthers recorded a dominating 9-0 victory to run their record to 10-7 overall and 6-3 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins fall to 6-9 and 5-7 in the conference.
The Panthers combined to drop only five games in three doubles matches and did not drop a set in singles play. The Brown and Gold were led by
Maria Toft who recorded a double bagel at top-flight singles and teamed with
Bianca Posa for an 8-1 win at first doubles.
Gaby Adia continued her strong play of late with a 6-1, 6-0 win at fourth singles and paired with classmate
Taylor King for an equally dominating 8-1 win at third doubles.
Samra Redzematovic and
Bianca Posa were also dominant in solo play; Redzematovic dropped one game at fifth singles and Posa dropped just two in the sixth position.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, April 11 when they host the Chargers of the University of New Haven for a 3 p.m. conference match.
