Easton, Mass. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team had its three-match win streak snapped with an 8-1 loss at Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday. The Panthers, ranked ninth in the East region, are now 6-5 overall and 3-2 in NE-10 play, while the Skyhawks improve to 12-2 overall and 6-0 in league competition.
Stonehill entered the contest ranked sixth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Region rankings and took all matches minus top flight singles, which saw Adelphi's
Maria Toft defeat Bailey Paradiso, 6-3, 6-2, in a battle of regionally-ranked players. In singles play, Toft stands at eighth in the East and improves to 8-3 overall, while Paradiso is ranked 19th.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday when they host Saint Anselm College in NE-10 play at 12 p.m.
