Smyrna, Tenn. - The Adelphi University women's bowling team went 1-2 in day three step ladder play on Sunday to finish in 10th place at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University. The Panthers complete regular season play with an overall record of 75-37.
The squad started the day against Stephen F. Austin University. The Lady Jacks jumped out to a 2-0 lead and Adelphi claimed game three. The Panthers then fell to 3-1 and faced elimination but rallied back, winning games five and six to force a deciding game seven. SFA ran off a string of strikes and eliminated Adelphi in game seven, 210-191.
Match two saw the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University fall behind 2-0 to the Panthers and then take game three. The Brown and Gold ran off two wins to claim the match 4-1.
The final match of the day saw the Panthers facing SFU for a second time with the same result as the Lady Jacks handed Adelphi a 4-1 setback.
The Panthers begin postseason play on Saturday in the Northeast Conference Championship at Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, N.J.
