Box Score West Haven, CT - The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to West Haven, Connecticut to face-off against conference leading New Haven on Tuesday, November 5. The fell in four games (20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 24-26), snapping a seven game win streak and lowering the Panthers record to 17-9 overall and 9-2 in conference.
Kaitlyn DeStefano led the Adelphi attack with a game-high 17 kills, while
Katie Bryson and
Mandy Stanislovaitis had seven kills each. Bryson paired her kills with 40 set assists, while also adding 16 digs.
Sierra Crook and
Haley Blunt also posted double digit dig totals with 17 and 10 respectively.
Adelphi picked up more kills then New Haven in game one, 14-11, but committed four more errors, dropping set one to the Chargers, 25-20. The Brown and Gold would turn the tables on the Chargers, picking up a 25-20 win in set two courtesy of 17 total kills. The momentum swung back to the Blue and Gold side in set three, collecting five more kills then Adelphi to push ahead, 2-1 with a 25-19 win. The fourth set was a hard fought affair that went into extra time before the Chargers delt Adelphi it's first defeat in eight games, 26-24.
