Volleyball Hosts #5 Franklin Pierce in NE-10 First Round

The Panthers will host the Ravens at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.

Garden City, N.Y. - By virtue of its 10-5 record in league play, Adelphi University has earned the fourth seed in the upcoming 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball Championship, which gets underway with quarterfinal action on Tuesday, November 19. The Panthers will host #5 Franklin Pierce at 7:00 p.m.

The highest remaining seed following Tuesday's quarterfinals will host the Northeast-10 semifinals and final, which will take place on Friday and Saturday.

New Haven (23-4, 14-0 NE-10) has now completed six straight seasons of undefeated Northeast-10 play since becoming a full conference member in 2008, posting an astounding 88-0 league record in that span. The Chargers, who have also won three Northeast-10 Championships in the past five years, will have a chance to host the 2013 Northeast-10 Championship Final Four with a quarterfinal win on Tuesday.

Top-seeded New Haven will host eighth-seeded American International College (14-15, 8-6 NE-10) on Tuesday night, while second-seeded The College of Saint Rose (19-4, 11-3 NE-10) hosts seventh-seeded Merrimack College (15-14, 9-5 NE-10). Third-seeded Bentley University (17-9, 11-3 NE-10) will host sixth-seeded Stonehill College (17-13, 9-5 NE-10), while fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University (14-7, 9-5 NE-10) will travel to fourth-seeded Adelphi University (18-11, 10-4 NE-10).

All four Tuesday quarterfinal games will get underway at 7:00 p.m.

Match 1: #8 American International at #1 New Haven – 7:00 p.m.
Match 2: #5 Franklin Pierce at #4 Adelphi – 7:00 p.m.
Match 3: #7 Merrimack at #2 Saint Rose – 7:00 p.m.?
Match 4: #6 Stonehill at #3 Bentley – 7:00 p.m.

Friday, November 22 – Semifinals (Final Four hosted by highest remaining seed)
Match 5: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2 – Time TBD  (5:00 or 7:30 p.m.)?
Match 6: Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 4 –  Time TBD  (5:00 or 7:30 p.m.)

Saturday, November 23 – Championship
Match 7: Match 5 Winner vs. Match 6 Winner – 5:00 p.m.
