Box Score Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University volleyball team played host to Southern Connecticut State University in a Northeast-10 Conference contest on Tuesday, October 22. The Panthers blanked the Owls, thanks to games of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-21, improving to 13-8 overall and 5-1 in the Northeast-10.
Kaitlyn DeStefano led the Panthers with 13 kills and four total blocks, while
Amanda Borges chipped in nine kills and
Katie Bryson led all players with 34 set assists. Defensively,
Sierra Crook picked up 11 digs for Adelphi, while
Haley Blunt and Borges had eight each.
Adelphi's defense held Southern Connecticut State to an attack percentage of .148 or under in all three sets, while posting numbers of .406, .241 and .276. The Panthers also won the kills battle in each game, 16-9, 12-8 and 12-9, which helped the Panthers secure the victory.

"Everyone played a strong game tonight and as a team we played well in all aspects," stated Head Coach
Danielle MacKnight. "Our passing was good, which allowed us to do a lot of different things successfully on offense."

The Panthers will depart campus on Friday for a two game road trip that will start with a Friday match-up against Saint Anselm at 7:00 pm and conclude with a 1:00 pm Saturday contest against St. Michael's College.
