Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Worcester, MA - The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to Worcester, Massachusetts on Saturday, September 22 to take on both Assumption College and Daemen College. The Panthers topped the host Greyhouds in four (21-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-21) and fell to Daemen in three (23-25, 23-18, 24-26), evening their overall record at 7-7 and opening NE-10 play with a 1-0 mark.

Collen Raga led three Panthers who reached 20+ kills on the day with 23, while Emily Dorko had 21 and Kaitlyn DeStefano collected 20. Katie Bryson had 74 assists and Bree Popham led the defense with 22 digs, while Bianca Hernandez added 21 and Bryson contributed 18.

Adelphi vs. Assumption

The Panthers stumbled against Assumption in game one, dropping a 25-21 decision, but rebounded with a 25-15 rout in the second frame. The final two games also went Adelphi's way, as the Panthers used wins of 25-17 and 25-21 to close out the contest, 3-1 in their favor.

Raga had a game-high 17 kills, while Dorko added 14 and both Haley Blunt and DeStefano recorded 12. Bryson had 49 assists and Popham posted a game-high 18 digs.

Adelphi vs. Daemen

Adelphi followed up the defeat of Assumption immediately with a contest against Division II newcomer Daemen. The Brown and Gold dropped a back and forth first game by just two points, 25-23. Despite the Panthers best efforts Daemen collected the second game as well, 25-18 and the third, 26-24 even after being pushed to extra points.

Overholt and DeStefano led the team with eight kills each, while Dorko was credited with seven and Bryson led both teams with 25 assists. Hernandez was tops on the Panthers in digs with 12.

Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, September 27 when they play host to NYIT in their home opener at 7:00 pm in Garden City, New York.
