Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team earned the sixth seed in the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament and will take on third-seeded University of the District of Columbia on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Derryfield School in Manchester, N.H.

After capturing a share of the Northeast-10 Conference regular season title but bowing out in the NE-10 tournament against the East Region hosts Southern New Hampshire University, the Panthers will get a chance to avenge a 5-4 regular season loss to the Firebirds. SNHU received the NE-10's automatic bid by winning its third straight NE-10 crown.

Adelphi will make its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend in a bracket that features the second-seeded Penmen, third-ranked UDC and seventh-seeded Chestnut Hill. In the bracket hosted by fifth-seeded Stonehill College, the Skyhawks will take on fourth-seeded Concordia to determine who faces top-seeded Queens College on May 1.
