Women's Tennis Runs Win Streak to Six, Tops Merrimack 7-2

Adelphi and Stonehill stand alone as unbeaten teams in NE-10 play

West Hempstead, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team propelled its win streak to six matches with a 7-2 victory over Merrimack College on Sunday. The Panthers climb to 13-3 overall and 8-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference, and are now one of just two teams along with Stonehill College who are undefeated in NE-10 play. The Warriors slipped to 7-10 overall and 6-2 in the league with the loss.

The Panthers took two of three doubles matches and all but one singles match. Maria Toft, Joanna Haich, Gaby Adia and Carolyn Smith all secured a pair of wins on the day.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday when the Panthers host the College of Saint Rose at 3 p.m.
