Garden City, N.Y. - Earlier this evening, the volleyball team hosted the Ravens of St. Anselm for a Northeast-10 matchup. The Panthers made quick work of the visitors, dispatching the Ravens in straight sets, 25-15, 25-19, 25-14. WIth the win, Adelphi advances to 21-10, 12-2 NE-10 while the Ravens drop to 9-15, 5-9 NE-10.

Kaitlyn DeStafano and Chelsea Overholt led the Panther attack with a combined 15 kills while the setting duo of Katie Bryson and Alayna Jackson registered a total of 29 assists. Bianca Hernandez posted a game high of 12 digs on the night. Emily Dorko did her part with four kills and seven block assists while teammate Shelby Stoner added four kills and five block assists.

In the first set, both team remained close until the Ravens took their first lead at the 9-8 mark on a kill by Melissa Ouellet. The Panthers fired back with a Dorko kill that sparked a 17-6 run, capped by a St. Anselm attack error, to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead.

It was a different story in the second set as the visitors built a six point lead at 14-8 with the help of seven Panther errors. However, Adelphi got back on track and went on another big 17-5 run after a time out was taken by Head Coach Danielle MacKnight to shift the momentum. Stoner sparked the run with a kill to bring her team within five and just a few points later, the game was knotted at 15. Courtesy of nine forced St. Anselm errors, the Brown and Gold quickly covered the 25 point spread and powered through to their second game victory.

Closing out the match, the Panthers were first to get on the board thanks to a kill by Hernandez and never looked back. A kill by Dorko gave her team a five point lead at 10-5 which was doubled courtesy of another kill by Haley Blunt to make it a 20-10 affair. An attack error by Morgan du Bray closed the books on Adelphi's 21st win of the season.

The volleyball team is back in action tomorrow when they host the Purple Knights of St. Michael's in their final Northeast-10 regular season showdown. The contest is scheduled for a 1pm start and will celebrate senior day before the game.
