Box Score North Andover, MA - The Adelphi University volleyball team travled to North Andover, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 20 to close out a two-day road trip through Massachusetts against Northeast-10 Conference foe Merrimack College. The Panthers took care of the Warriors in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-23 to improve to 16-8 overall and remain unblemished in the NE-10 at 7-0.
Chelsea Overholt led the Panther attack with 13 kills, while both
Emily Dorko and
Kaitlyn DeStefano chipped in eight apiece.
Katie Bryson led the team with 34 assists, while
Bianca Hernandez was tops among all players with 12 digs.
Adelphi picked up a 25-17 game one victory on the back of 14 kills and an attack percentage of .400, while taking advantage of six Merrimack attack errors. The Panthers kept the pressure on in game two, committing just one attack error, racking up 15 more kills and posting a robust attack percentage of .538, taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 victory.
The Brown and Gold would trail in the third game, but rallied to knot the set at 22 all, then scored three of the final four points to pull out a 25-23 win and close out the contest, 3-0.
The Panthers return to action at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23 when they play host to the University of New Haven in a battle of the Northeast-10's only unbeaten teams.
