Box Score Syracuse, N.Y. - The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to Syracuse, New York on Saturday, October 13 to take on Northeast-10 opponent LeMoyne College. The Panthers out killed the Dolphins, 50-39, collecting a 3-1 (26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 25-13) win to remain unbeaten in the NE-10 at 5-0 and improve to 14-8 overall, while LeMoyne falls to 12-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Both
Kaitlyn DeStefano and
Chelsea Overholt registered 11 kills, while
Samantha Rico chipped in 10 and
Katie Bryson had a game high 38 set assists.
Bianca Hernandez led all players with 22 digs and
Bree Popham also reached double figures with 10 digs.
Adelphi needed extra points to dispatch LeMoyne in game one, taking a 26-24 victory behind 13 kills. The second game was all Panthers, as the Brown and Gold hit .280, committing just three errors on the way to a 25-16 win. The host Dolphins rallied in the third came with 11 kills and a .290 attack percentage, pulling to within one game, 2-1 after a 25-19 win. However, Adelphi closed out the game in the fourth set with a 25-23 triumph behind 14 kills.
The Panthers return to action on Friday, October 19 when they travel to Lowell, Massachusetts for a 7:00 pm meeting with the UMass-Lowell Riverhawks.
