Adelphi University junior Eric Janssen (Hicksville, N.Y.) and freshman Devan Crimi (West Islip, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi Athletes of the Week for the week of April 18, 2011.
In a 2-0 week for the Panthers, Janssen combined to make 21 saves. In a 16-6 win over Assumption, he recorded seven saves. Adelphi ended the week with a 7-6 double overtime win over St. Michael's where he set aside 14 shots.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, April 20, when they host nationally-ranked Le Moyne College at 4:00 p.m.
Crimi helped lead the top-ranked Panthers to a 3-0 week by scoring seven goals and handing out eight assists. She started the week with a one-goal, four-assist performance in a 24-4 win over Assumption. She closed out the week with three goals and two assists in a 24-2 win at St. Michael's, and three goals and two assists in a 24-3 win at Franklin Pierce.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, April 20, when they play host to Southern Connecticut State University at 7:00 p.m.
