Garden City, N.Y. - The third-seeded Adelphi University women's tennis team hosted sixth-seeded Merrimack College this afternoon in the Northeast-10 Quarterfinals. Adelphi handled the Warriors en route to the victory, 5-1, advancing to the semifinals.

Picking up the singles wins for the Panthers were sophomore Maria Toft at top-flight (6-0, 6-0), senior Alda Ribeiro at #2 (6-0, 6-3), and junior Carolyn Smith at #3 (6-0, 7-5).

Toft and Ribeiro also earned a top-flight doubles victory, while Smith and senior Megan Margino won at #3 doubles 8-0.

The Panthers will now travel to take on second-seeded Stonehill College on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
