Women's Lacrosse Grounds the Ravens, 24-3

Rindge, NH - The Adelphi University women's lacrosse team traveled to Rindge, New Hampshire on Sunday, April 17 to take on Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 contest. The Panthers jumped out to a 10-1 lead, and allowed just one goal in the first half, cruising to a 24-3 victory. With the win Adelphi remains spotless at 11-0 and 8-0 in conference, while Franklin Pierce falls to 6-6 and 3-5 in the NE-10.

The Panthers were again led by Claire Petersen and Erica Devito on offense. Petersen had a game high nine points on one goal and eight assists, while Devito tallied four goals and two assists for six points. Both Elizabeth Fey and Devan Crimi had five points on three goals and two assists, while Demmianne Cook had three goals and on assist for four points.

Kaitlyn Carter, Jacqueline Williams, Devito and Cook each caused two turnovers, along with Joanie Buczkowski. Fey controlled the draw, picking up five wins, while Marissa Mills and Meg Brown had three each. Frankie Caridi made two saves, collecting her 11th collegiate win and Jennifer Rojas made one stop in 11 minutes of action.

The Panthers streaked out to a 10-0 lead, pushing their advantage to double digits at the 22:!4 mark on a Mills tally. Franklin Pierce stopped the Adelphi run with a goal, but a Petersen goal started another 10-0 run that would end the half, giving the Panthers a 20-1 lead at intermission on the way to a 24-3 victory.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, April 20 when they travel to New Haven, Connecticut to face Southern Connecticut State University at 7:00 pm.
