Men's Tennis Snaps Skid; Defeats Bloomfield, 7-2

The Adelphi University men's tennis team traveled to take on Bloomfield College in a non-conference match yesterday afternoon. Adelphi snapped their losing skid by upending Bloomfield, 7-2. Adelphi improves to 4-9, while Bloomfield drops to 1-3.

Graduate Student Sebastian Nieves started at #1 singles for the Panthers and collected a 6-2, 6-1 victory, while senior Anton Voynov followed at the second spot with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Sophomores Gaetan Georges and Adrish Tewarie, and Joseph Carbone all picked up wins at #4-#6 singles, respectively.

Nieves and Voynov paired up to win at top-flight doubles, 8-3, while Georges and Tewarie followed them with an 8-3 victory at #2 doubles as well.

The Panthers return to action on Thursday, March 31, when they host non-conference opponent Caldwell College at 3:00 p.m.
