West Hempstead, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team earned its second shutout in as many matches when the Panthers downed Assumption College 9-0 at the Hempstead Lake Indoor Courts on Saturday. Adelphi now stands at 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
Sophomore
Gaby Adia had a standout performance for the Panthers, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win at #5 singles and joining forces with freshman
Joanna Haich for an 8-0 victory at #3 doubles. Adelphi won all but one set in doubles action, and freshman
Bianca Posa added a spotless 6-0, 6-0 margin at the fourth singles slot.
Adelphi will look to maintain its spotless NE-10 record when the Panthers host Le Moyne College on Sunday, October 9 at 12 p.m.
