Women's Tennis Wraps Up Fall Season with 9-0 Win Over C.W. Post

Panthers finish fall at 6-1 overall, 3-0 in NE-10 play

The Adelphi University women's tennis team capped its fall season with its fifth straight win and fourth consecutive shutout by topping C.W. Post 9-0 in a non-conference match on Saturday.

Junior Michelle Gurda, the defending Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, made her #1 singles/#1 doubles debut and responded accordingly, winning 8-1 in doubles play with Samra Redzematovic and 6-0, 6-3 in singles action. Senior Nicole Byrnes played her final match as a Panther, and wrapped up her career with an 8-3 win at #5 singles, while sophomore Gaby Adia had another strong match by winning 8-0 with Carolyn Smith at #2 doubles.

Adelphi finishes the fall with a 6-1 record and a 3-0 mark in NE-10 play.
