Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University sophomore Andrew Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) and freshman Gabrielle Terzano (West Hempstead, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi Athletes of the week for the week of January 17, 2011.

Coelho continued his strong running, placing ninth overall in the men's mile at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday, January 14 in a new personal best of 4:16.31. His time set a new 2011 standard in the Northeast-10, bettering the previous conference best mark by almost a full second.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, January 21 when they return to the Armory Track and Field Center in New York, New York to take part in the Great Dane Classic.

Against the United States Merchant Marine Academy Terzano won the 200 yard freestyle (2:09.62) and the 200 yard butterfly, breaking the school record in the latter event with a time of 2:24.55. She followed that up with two second place performances in a loss to Pace, posting times of 1:06.39 in the 100 yard butterfly and 2:10.77 in the 200 yard freestyle.

Adelphi returns to the pool on January 22 when they travel to Albany, New York to take on the College of Saint Rose.
