The Adelphi University women's tennis team hosted the Cougars of Caldwell College on Friday afternoon in a non-conference match. The Panthers swept doubles play and went on to shut out Caldwell, 9-0. Adelphi improves to 4-0, while Caldwell falls to 1-7.

Senior Adla Ribeiro and sophomore Maria Toft opened up doubles action with a convincing 8-0 win for the Panthers. Up 2-0 in the match, senior Megan Margino and junior Carolyn Smith completed the doubles sweep with an 8-0 victory over Danielle Levasseur and Kiera Tims.

Toft would open up at top-flight singles and best her opponent, 6-2, 6-0, which was then followed up by an 8-0 pro-set victory by Ribeiro. Freshman Gaby Adia also collected a pro-set victory at #3 singles, 8-3. Smith would dominate at #4 singles dropping just one set in the victory, 6-0, 6-1.

The Panthers return to action on Sunday, October 3 when they travel to take on Georgian Court at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference match.
