Worcester, MA - Freshman attack Connor McCann scored four goals to lead Adelphi University past Assumption College, 18-9, in Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse action Wednesday night in the Multi-Sport Stadium.

Junior midfielder Mike Iorio and postgraduate midfielder Jonathan Baron each had three goals for Adelphi. Iorio added two assists along with Jeff Melsopp, while Danny Blau chipped in two goals.

Adelphi jumped out to a 5-0 lead after just one quarter of action and never looked back, taking an 8-2 bulge into the half. The Panthers then used a 6-3 third quarter to put the game out of reach at 14-5 heading into the fourth and final frame.

The teams each had 34 shots and also tied with 29 ground balls. Junior goalkeeper Scott Vogel had seven saves for the Greyhounds while Adelphi senior keeper Devin Schneiderbauer had 10 for the Panthers.

Adelphi is now 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference, Assumption is 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the conference. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, April 10 when they play host to Northeast-10 opponent St. Michael's College.
