Women's Tennis Loses Second Match Of The Season; Comes Up Short Against Stonehill, 6-3

The Adelphi University women's tennis team traveled to take on Stonehill College on Sunday afternoon. Stonehill swept the competition in doubles play to go on to win, 6-3. Stonehill improves to 12-2 and 9-1 in the Northeast-10, while Adelphi falls to 12-2 and 9-2.

Stonehill controlled Adelphi during doubles play, sweeping the Panthers. Maria Toft and Alda Ribeiro came up short at #1 doubles, 8-6.

However, Toft and Ribeiro would bounce back during singles play and both record 6-0, 6-2 victories. Michelle Gurda would collect the final Panther win during singles play at #3, 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.

The Panthers return to action on Tuesday April 13 when they travel to take on American International College at 3:30 p.m.
