The Adelphi University volleyball team completed a two-day trip through Massachusetts on Saturday, October 30 with a conference contest against Merrimack. The Panthers swung well, but were done in by too many errors, falling 3-0. The loss drops Adelphi to 15-10 overall and 9-4 in Northeast-10 action, while Merrimack improves to 10-13 overall and 8-6 in conference action.
Adelphi posted more kills then Merrimack in two of the three games, totaling 48 winners to the hosts, 41. However the Panthers were done in by a total of 15 attack errors and a hitting percentage of just .143, falling 25-17, 25-23 and 25-23.
Hilary Pavels led the Panthers with 13 kills and 18 digs, while both Samantha Rico and Emily Dorko had 10 kills. Bree Popham led all players with 26 digs and Alexandra Kahen and Heather Mau added 11 and 10 respectively. Mau also led all players with 40 assists.
Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, November 2 when they host Georgian Court at 7:00 pm in Garden City, New York.
