Hilary Pavels registered 14 kills to lead Adelphi to a 3-0 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court. With the win the Panthers improve to 14-8 overall and 8-2 in the NE-10, while LeMoyne falls to 12-10 and 5-6 in conference action.
After the two teams split the first 18 points of the opening game, the Panthers scored three straight points to take the lead for good en route to winning the game 25-17. In the second game, Adelphi went on a 9-1 run early in the game to take a 14-7 lead on its way to taking the game 25-13. The Panthers closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the third game, including a 5-2 run to end the game.
Pavels, a Northeast-10 First Team selection last year, hit at a .542 clip on her way to her match-high kill total. Emily Dorko joined Pavels in double figures with 10, while hitting .412. Heather Mau directed the Adelphi attack by dishing out 35 assists, while Bree Popham led the defense with six digs.
Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, October 26 when they play host to Northeast-10 rival New Haven at 7:00 pm.
