Women's Soccer Slips Past Pace In Overtime, 1-0

The Adelphi University women's soccer team traveled to take on Pace University this afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. Senior Brianne McDonnell scored the game-winner in the 94th minute for the Panthers' third straight win. Adelphi improves to 7-5-1 and 7-5 in the NE-10, while Pace falls to 5-11 and 3-11 in the league.

The teams battled to a scoreless duel in regulation as the Setters posted 14 shots, while the Panthers recorded 12 shots in the first 90 minutes of play. Adelphi also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks in regulation.

The Panthers would come up with the game-winner in the 94th minute as McDonnell scored off a Kim Volinski assist to give Adelphi the win. The Panthers got off the only two shots of the overtime period.

Junior Dorothy Connolly set aside seven shots, while Courtney Hagen recorded eight saves.

The Panthers return to action on Thursday, October 21 when they host Le Moyne College in Albany, New York at 2:00 p.m.
