Manchester, N.H. -

The Adelphi University women's soccer team traveled to take on Southern New Hampshire University this afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. Adelphi had a 1-0 lead at the half but it wasn't enough as SNHU scored three second half goals for the 3-2 victory. The Penmen improve to 5-6-1 and 4-5-1 in the NE-10, while AU drops to 4-5-1 and 4-5 in the conference.

The Panthers would get on the board first in the 21st minute when senior Emily Dunne found classmate Brianne McDonnell for her second goal of the season. The Panthers would take a 1-0 lead into the half, while SNHU held an 11-7 advantage in shots. Each team also had one corner kick in the first half of action.

The Penmen would even the score at 1-1 when Ashley Jaskula netted her second goal of the season with the assist coming from Ariel Teixeira at the 66-minute mark. A little less than five minutes after Jaskula's score, SNHU would take a one-goal lead with an unassisted goal from Kaliegh Roberge.

Three minutes after SNHU took a 2-1 lead, Dunne tallied her second goal of the season to even the score back up. With 9:35 left in regulation, Teixeira beat junior goalkeeper Dorothy Connolly on a penalty kick for the game-winner.

SNHU ended the game with the edge in shots (21-18) and corner kicks (6-1). Maggie Weldon recorded four saves in the win, while Connolly stopped eight SNHU shots.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, October 13 when they host Assumption College at 5:00 p.m. on Motamed Field.
