Women's Volleyball Sails by Saint Anselm, 3-0

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi volleyball team played host to Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference contest on Friday, October 1. The Panthers held St. Anselm to just 15 kills, while producing 41 of their own, pulling out a 3-0 win. With the victory Adelphi improves to 8-5 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 0-4, while St. Anselm continues to search for their first win at 0-8 and 0-4.

Adelphi came out hot, posting an attack percentage of .480 in the first game, while holding St. Anselm to a percentage of -.033 in a 25-12 game one win. Game two was Adelphi's best game, with 18 kills, while the visitors could only muster four in a 25-14 Panther win. The hosts closed out the game in the third set with a 25-12 win, courtesy of 10 more kills.

Both Hilary Pavels and Chelsea Overholt posted 10 kills, while Pavels added 13 digs. Patawe Simms chipped in eight kills and Erika Loomer had 23 assists and Bree Popham totaled 11 digs.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 2 when they play host to St. Michael's at 1:00 pm in the Center for Recreation and Sports.
