Garden City, NY - Junior Richard Byrd (Central Islip, NY/Copiague High School) and sophomore Erika Cottle (Pittsburgh, PA/North Catholic) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of January 4.

Junior guard Richard Byrd the Panthers collected wins over Dominican, Caldwell, Bloomfield, Nyack and LeMoyne. He averaged 18.6 points during that five game span to go along with 4.6 rebounds per game, and nearly three steals per contest. His best game was a 27 point outburst in Adelphi's 90-77 win over LeMoyne.

Men's basketball takes the court again Wednesday January 6th, 2010 at home in a conference game against Southern New Hampshire at 7:30 PM.

Recorded 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against LeMoyne College on January 2. Cottle is currently ranked 3rd on the team in scoring with 10.8 ppg and leads the team in assists with 2.45 per game.

Women's basketball also returns Wednesday January 6th, 2010 at home in a conference match-up against Southern New Hampshire at 5:30 PM.
