Garden City, NY - Senior Kevin Durant (Deer Park, N.Y.) and junior Danielle Lyons (South Glastonbury, CT) have been selected as Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of January 11.

Durant led the Panthers at the Metro Coaches Invite this past week. He placed second overall in the men's 60 meter dash, finishing in a time of 6.84. Durant's time provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Indoor Championship meet and is also the fastest time in the Northeast-10 this season.

Lyons won her heat of the 500 meter run at the Metro Coaches Invite this past week. Her time of 1:20.03 is the second fastest time of the season in the Northeast-10, in addition she was the lead leg on Adelphi's fourth place Distance Medley Relay team, handing off the baton in first.

Both athletes were also selected by the Northeast-10 as Male and Female Track Athletes of the Week. This is the first such honor for Adelphi's Track team since joining the conference in 2009.
