Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - Adelphi University traveled to Dobb's Ferry, New York on Monday, April 27 for an East Coast Conference dual with Mercy College. Keith Couch out pitched Mercy's Mat Anzivino, allowing just two hits to lead Adelphi to a 2-0 win. With the win Adelphi improves to 23-12 overall and 14-6 in the ECC, while the Mavericks fall to 8-22 and 2-17 in the conference.

Adelphi got on the board in the second inning when junior Corey Itts reached on a fielder's choice to scoring Bill Melillo from third, who had opened the innings with a single. The Panthers added a run in the sixth inning on an RBI double by junior Justin Ciamillo. Ciamillo's double brought Melillo home from first and gave Adelphi a 2-0 lead.

Couch twirled a complete game shutout for the Panthers striking out seven batters, allowing just two hits and walking one in his nine innings of work.

Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, April 28 when they host Pace University at 3:30 pm.
