Men's Lacrosse Drops Season Finale to Dowling, 8-7

Oakdale, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's lacrosse team traveled to Oakdale, New York to close out the regular season against East Coast Conference opponent Dowling College on April 25. The Panthers held a, 7-5, led with 10 minutes left in the game but could not hold on, falling 8-7. The loss drops Adelphi to 3-8 overall, while Dowling improves to 7-5.

The Adelphi defense kept the game close in the first quarter, allowing just one goal to Dowling, making the score 1-0 after one period. The Golden Lions would put two more goals on the board before Danny Blau answered off of an Eddie Ege feed to make the score 3-1 at the half.

Dowling increased their lead to three goals, 4-1 just 1:50 into the third quarter, but Adelphi would score the next four goals to take a 5-4 lead. Four different Panthers netted goals as Donny Moss, Matthew Sagistano, Rory Duddy and Ege scored. Dowling would stem the bleeding and knot the game at five four minutes into the fourth quarter, but Blau and Moss would give Adelphi a two goal lead, 7-5, with 10 minutes left.

Unfortunately Dowling would reel off three unanswered goals, the last of which came with 1:55 left to seal the Golden Lion win.

Moss and Ege led the way for Adelphi with four points each as Moss scored two goals and had two assists and Ege handed out three assists and netted a goal. Zachary Bates and Devin Schneiderbauer split time in goal making five and seven saves respectively.
