The Adelphi University volleyball team rolled to a 25-9, 25-18, 25-21 win over Franklin Pierce University tonight at the Center for Recreation & Sports. The Panthers improve to 24-8 overall and 13-1 in the Northeast-10, while the Ravens drop to 8-21 and 3-11 in the league.
The Panthers were led by freshman Chelsea Overholt with 12 kills, while Heather Mau collected 33 assists. Senior Amy Williams was the leading dig-getter with 21, with freshman Bree Popham regisering 12.
The Panthers posted a .464 hit percentagae in game two, connecting for 14 kills on 28 attempts with one error. In game two, Adelphi stumbled a bit, hitting just .184, but faired much better than FPU at .079. The Ravens kept in close in game three, tying the game at 14-14 on a kill by Katie Ristow. Popham served for four straight points for Adelphi to pull ahead for good.
Adelphi returns to action tomorrow afternoon, as they close out the regular season against Southern New Hampshire at 1:00 p.m.
