The Adelphi University men's soccer team opened Atlantic Soccer Conference tournament play on Friday, November 13 against NJIT in Farmville, Virginia. The Panthers scored just five minutes into the action and led 2-0 at the half on the way to a 3-0 win. With the victory Adelphi improves to 12-2-4 overall and advances to the ASC final.
Issa Tall opened the scoring just five minutes into the action, tallying an unassisted goal when he slipped the ball past NJIT keeper Ryan Sutherland. Kevin Gluchowski gave Adelphi a two goal cushion when he sent a second ball into the back of the Highlander net on a header in the 37th minute that came courtesy of a crossing ball from Mauricio Mora.
The Panthers final mark came off the foot of Gluchowski as he saw an opening from 35 yards out and slotted the ball into the lower left corner of the net in the 72nd minute of play, making the final score 3-0.
Adelphi's Kyle Blackmer made three saves in the win for Adelphi, while Sutherland was credited with four stops for NJIT.
The Panthers will return to action on Saturday, November 15 when they take on host Longwood at noon in Farmville, Virginia.
