Volleyball Pushes Past Pace, 3-1

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University volleyball team played host to Pace University on Wednesday, October 7 in an Northeast-10 Conference game. The Panthers took advantage of 31 Pace attack errors to pick up their 15th win of the season, 3-1 over the Setters. With the victory Adelphi improves to 15-6 overall and remains perfect in the conference at 6-0.

Adelphi cruised to wins in game one and two, 25-16 and 25-18, getting 12 total kills in the first game and 11 in game two. The Panthers stumbled in game three, allowing Pace back into the match as they fell 25-19 thanks to 16 kills by the Setters. However, Adelphi closed the door in game four, allowing just six kills for the visitors while posting 12 of their own in a 25-17 win.

Chelsea Overholt led the way on offense with 10 kills, while both Kelsey Hackett and Hilary Pavels had nine. Pavels also added 16 digs as did Amy Williams and Jennifer McKenna had 11. Heather Mau played strong, posting 31 assists in the win.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 10 when they host Assumption at 1:00 pm in Garden City.
