The Adelphi University volleyball team wrapped a two-day road trip with a Northeast-10 Conference contest against St. Michael's in Colchester, Vermont. The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before falling in the third game, but bounced back to pick up the 3-1 win. With the victory Adelphi improves to 14-6 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while St. Michael's falls to 5-10 overall and 1-7 in the Northeast-10.
The Panthers posted attack percentages of .393 and .414 in the first two games, picking up wins of 25-16 and 25-12. The third game saw Adelphi fall off, making 12 attack errors to nine for the host school in a 26-24 loss. However, the third game was all Adelphi as the Panthers posted 18 kills against just six errors to close out the match with a 25-16 win.
Both Patawe Simms and Hilary Pavels had 15 kills in the win, while Pavels added a game-high 13 digs. Erika Loomer had 26 assists and Heather Mau chipped in 21 and Bree Popham had 11 digs.
Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, October 7 when they play host to Pace at 7:00 pm.
