Volleyball Falls To Bridgeport, 3-2

The Adelphi University volleyball team hosted Bridgeport University in a non-conference game this evening. The Panthers jumped out early on the Purple Knight, taking the first two games, only to fall short in the end, 3-2. The win improves Bridgeport to 27-4 overall, while the Panthers drop to 20-8.

The Panthers took the first two games, 25-23 and 25-19, even with the Purple Knights tallying a higher kill percentage. In the final three wins by Bridgeport, 25-20, 25-21, 15-13, the Purple Knights highest kill percentage was .067, but it was enough for the come-from-behind win. Bridgeport also finished with a 12-11 advantage in total team blocks.

For the Purple Knights, Agatha Baliddwa and Terry Masava each totaled 15 kills on the evening, I Kovacevic-Jurasin recorded 26 digs, and Yael Cohen handed out 50 assists.

For the Panthers, Hilary Pavels led the way with 13 kills, Amy Williams had 29 digs, and Heather Mau finished with 41 assists.

The Panthers return to action on Thursday, October 30 when they host league-rival UMass Lowell at 7:00 pm.
