The Adelphi University women's soccer team outshot Assumption College 21-10 and enjoyed a 12-1 edge in corner kicks, but managed to end in a double overtime scoreless tie this afternoon at the Multi-Sport Stadium. The Panthers are now 8-4-1 and 6-4-1 in the conference, while the Greyhounds move to and 6-6-1 and also 6-4-1.
The Panthers had five shots on goal in each of the regulation halves of play. Seniors Caitlin Morrison and Karen Roveto along with junior Brianne McDonnell each had two shots on goal. Adalphi managed two shots in the second overtime, but Emily Dunne's attempt at 108:04 was stopped by the Greyhound goalkeeper.
Sophomore goalkeeper Dorothy Connolly made four saves for the Panthers, while Junior Lauren Keating made 11 saves for Assumption.
Adelphi is back in action on Saturday, October 17, as they travel to Rindge, New Hampshire to take on Franklin Pierce College at 1:00 p.m.
