Garden City, NY - Junior Thorne Holder (Port of Spain, Trinidad) and sophmore Lucia Vigliotti (Westbury, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the week for the week of October 12, 2009.

Holder played all 180 minutes in goal for the Panthers, making seven saves on the week and posting one shutout in Adelphi's two ties. He made six saves to help Adelphi secure a 1-1 tie with Princeton and then made one save in the Panthers 0-0 tie with Howard.

Men's Soccer returns to action in Houston, TX on Saturday, October 17 against Houston Baptist for a conference event at 7 PM ET.

In a 1-0 week for the Panthers, Vigliotti posted her fifth shutout of the season, stopping 10 shots in a 1-0 overtime win over Franklin Pierce University. The sophomore goalie set aside three shots in overtime to preserve the win. She was also named Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of The Week and ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week.

Field Hockey takes the field again in Springfield, MA on Thursday, October 15 against American International for a conference event at 7 PM.
