Box Score

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's soccer team fell to The College of St. Rose, 1-0, this afternoon at Competition Field. The Golden Knights improve to 2-1, while handing the Panthers (3-1) their first loss of the season.

Adelphi had several good attempts in the contest, but it was St. Rose that held a 21-12 shot advantage. Despite 11 first-half attempts, the Panther defense, which included seven saves by freshman goalie Dorothy Connolly, kept the Golden Knights scoreless.

It was early in the second half when St. Rose struck as Amanda Deck scored the game-winner on a direct kick.

Connolly finished the game with a collegiate career-high of 13 stops while Shannon Murphy made four saves for the Golden Knights.

The Panthers return to action next Saturday, September 13, when they host C.W. Post in their first conference game of the season. The game is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. marking the first-ever night game for the women's soccer team on its home turf.
