Klimkowski Leads Women's Soccer Past Philadelphia, 4-0

Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Erin Klimkowski scored two goals to lead the Adelphi University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Philadelphia University this afternoon. The Panthers improve to 3-0 overall, while the Rams fall to 0-3.

Klimkowski tallied what would be the eventual game-winner in the 6th minute of play on a feed from junior Caitlin Morrison. Sophomore Brianne McDonnell put the Panthers up 2-0 on a penalty kick at 12:42. Adelphi's offense dominated the first half, making 15 shots on goal, compared with one for PhilaU.

In the second half, junior Amanda Popoli found junior Kayte Kinsley who connected with the back of the net at 49:42. Klimkowski rounded out the scoring in the 51st minute on a corner kick assist by senior Lauren Slattery.

Freshman Dorothy Connolly made one save in 68:51 minutes in goal to record the win. Sophomore Angela Matinale had one stop in the final 21:09 in relief. Philadelphia's Sara Hall had 17 saves.

The Panthers return to action this Sunday, September 7, when they host the College of St. Rose at 2:00 p.m.
