Box Score

Brookhaven, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's soccer team tied with Dowling College, 1-1, in a conference match-up this evening. The Panthers are now 3-2-1 and 0-1-1 on the ECC, while the Golden Lions move to 3-0-3 and 0-0-1 in league play.

Adelphi struck first as junior Kayte Kinsley headed the ball into the net on a corner kick by junior Amanda Popoli at 12:00 in the first half.

The Panthers held the Golden Lions scoreless until late in the second half when Vanessa Moreira knotted the score in the 74th minute on a feed by Stephanie Cotter to force overtime.

Both teams had chances to take the lead the final 17 minutes but neither could find the back of the net. Freshman Dorothy Connolly made five saves for Adelphi, while Alicia Commisso had four stops for Dowling.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, traveling to Worcester, Massachusetts for a non-conference contest with Assumption College at 1:00 p.m.
