Women's Soccer Falls To C.W. Post In Overtime

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's soccer team fell to C.W. Post, 1-0, in overtime on Saturday night at Competition Field. The Pioneers improve to 5-0 and 1-0 in the ECC, while the Panthers drop to 3-2 and 0-1 in the league.

Neither team was able to manage much offense in the first half, with Post holding a 3-0 shot advantage. The Panthers turned up the heat in the second half, with seven shots. Adelphi's best chance came in the 87th minute on a shot by sophomore Brianna Stidsen which was stopped by Allie Weiser.

C.W. Post prevailed in overtime, with Maria Sonnerborg talling the winning shot at 91:49 on a deflection with the assist going to Melissa Pascarella.

Freshman Dorothy Connolly made three stops, while Weiser had one save.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, September 17, as they to Dowling College for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
