Adelphi Men's Tennis 1-1 Over The Weekend

Hempstead, NY - Adelphi Men's Tennis remained home at Hempstead Lake State Park this weekend for two match-ups against East Coast Conference (ECC) rival the Mercy College Mavericks and the Bloomfield College Deacons. The Panthers split the weekend's games, falling 7-2 over the Mavericks but rallied for a 9-0 win over the Deacons. Adelphi now stands at 7-7 for the season overall, 1-2 in ECC play.

Tomasz Walczak and Alex Molotsky in the number one doubles spot opened up the weekend's competition against the Mavericks with an 8-6 win over Carl Johnson and Zeki Tukel. This win improves their win-streak to two and improves their overall record to 6-3 as a duo. The Panthers over winner in the match came via Joseph Carbone in the number 6 singles spot. In a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, three set battle, Carbone came up with the win and gave the Panthers their last point of the match.

The Brown and Gold one day later returned to Hempstead Lake State Park where all nine matches went in their favor over the Deacons. Anton Voynov defeated Ken Bayer 6-0, 6-0 for his 10 win of the season and the duo of Molotsky and Walczak continued their win streak at three and now sit 7-3 overall.

Adelphi Men's Tennis will return to action this Friday, April 11, when they will take on Caldwell University in a non-conference match scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
