Game One|Game Two

The Adelphi University softball team captured game one, 1-0, but fell, 4-0 in game two against Bryant University this afternoon at Janet L. Ficke Field. The Panthers are now 17-13 on the season, while the Bulldogs are 9-3.
Game One
Despite six hits in the first seven innings, the Panthers were unable to score. Senior Julie Schaper (9-2) was impressive on the mound, holding the Bulldogs to just three hits, while walking two and fanning 12.
International rules took over, placing senior Dely Francisco on second base in the bottom of the eighth. She advanced to third on a SAC bunt by junior Kristin Brennan. Senior Diana DiPiano's RBI single drove in Francisco to end the game.
Adelphi had one run on seven hits with no errors. Bryant had no runs on three hits with no errors.
Game Two
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two RBI single by Thomas. Bryant tacked on two more runs in the fifth inning to make it a 4-0 game. In contrast, the Panthers were held without a hit until a single by Vogt in the bottom of the fifth inning. Adelphi managed two hits in the seventh inning, but left both DiPiano and Vogt stranded.
Bryant's Enos gave up just three hits, no walks and two strikeouts. Freshman Deirdre White (1-4) recorded the loss on the mound, giving up two runs, two earned with three walks. Robinson saw time in the next four innings, allowing five hits, two runs, two earned, with one walk and four strikeouts. Bell and Schaper saw time in the sixth and seventh inning, respectively, with each allowing one hit.
Bryant had four runs on nine hits with no errors. Adelphi had no runs on three hits with one error.
