Men's Lacrosse Dumps Dominican, 22-5

Hempstead, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's lacrosse game played host to Dominican College on Wednesday, April 30 on the campus of Hofstra University. The Panthers ran out to a 10-2 lead at the half and never looked back, rolling to a 22-5 victory. With the win the Panthers improve to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the East Coast Conference.

The Panthers started hot, scoring just 33 seconds into the game as Ian Kuchta found the back of the net off of a Marc Burton feed. Less then two minutes later Edward Ege and Chad Henry found the net just 22 seconds apart to put Adelphi on top, 3-0.

Dominican's Alex Jones responded at the 9:59 mark to cut the Panther edge to two, but another Kuchta tally 45 seconds later pushed the lead back to three, 4-1. Brandon Butler and Burton chipped in goals in the last five minutes of the first quarter to give Adelphi a 6-1 lead after one quarter of action.

Adelphi opened the second quarter with four straight goals to push the lead to 10-1, before Dominican responded with 1:30 left in the half to make it a 10-2 game at intermission. The third quarter was all Adelphi, as the Panthers reeled off eight goals, including three by Burton. Adelphi's third quarter explosion made the score 18-3 and put the game out of reach, as the Panthers picked up a 22-5 win.

Ege led all players with 13 points, including a school record 12 assists, while both Henry (5G, 3A) and Burton (6G, 2A) added eight points. Five other Panthers collected at least one point in the win.

Devin Schneiderbauer, Drew Smith, John Gherlone and Sean Quinlan combined to makde four saves in the win.

Adelphi closes out the regular season on Saturday, May 3 when they Erie, Pennsylvania for a 1:00 pm meeting with Mercyhurst.
